One summer afternoon, as I was driving my Fiat Jolly along the winding roads of the Greek coastline, the colors of the sunset were truly mesmerizing. The sky was ablaze with hues of orange, pink, and purple, casting a warm, ethereal glow over the landscape. The sea shimmered beneath the fading light, its surface rippling like liquid gold.
A toilet is not typically considered a beautiful object; it is defined by function and privacy. This work challenges that perception by transforming it into something refined and visually engaging. Through the use of patterned fabric and a soft, upholstered top, the familiar form is elevated into a decorative piece.
This artwork plays with humor and shock by presenting an unexpected, close-up view of a donkey’s rear, framed like a formal portrait. The elegant typography contrasts sharply with the crude subject and explicit word, creating a tension between refinement and irreverence. It can be read as a commentary on perception—how presentation and framing can elevate or distort meaning—or simply as a cheeky, provocative joke.
